It will gradually complement the climate measures already in place within the EU and will apply to goods imported from non-EU countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:25px\"><strong>\ud83c\udfed <strong>Products concerned<\/strong>Pressure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CBAM applies to imports from the following sectors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cement<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Electricity<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fertilizers<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Iron and steel<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Aluminum<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hydrogen<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These products fall under the mechanism when they are released for free circulation within the EU customs territory.<br>A specific framework also exists for goods resulting from inward processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Exemption for small consignmentsCommitment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shipments valued at less than \u20ac150 are exempt from the CBAM, in order to reduce administrative burden. This measure represents around one-third of shipments to the EU, but only a small share of the overall emissions concerned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>What Comes After Deltai?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Importers of CBAM products<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Indirect customs representatives<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:25px\"><strong>\ud83d\uddd3\ufe0f <strong>Implementation timelin<\/strong>e<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The implementation of the CBAM is gradual and is structured around two phases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Transitional period<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>From 1 October 2023 to 31 December 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this phase, importers must submit <strong>quarterly CBAM reports<\/strong> when lodging their customs declarations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting <strong>1 January 2025<\/strong>, they will also need to apply for authorization as a <strong>\u201cCBAM Declarant.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CBAM registration platform is <strong>European and centralized<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2.
